Johnny Appleseed's Birthday

Here are some pictures of the children peeling the apples to make applesauce on Johnny Appleseed's Birthday. Each child brought their own apple to peel. We cooked the apples in the crockpot and had them for afternoon snack. For some strange reason I didn't get any pics of the children actually eating the applesauce. Sorry!

Rainbow Fish

In August when we were talking about making new friends we read the story "Rainbow Fish". We played Go Fish and made a picture of Rainbow Fish. We used do-a-Dot markers to paint the fish and glued large sequins on to make the shiny scales that the rainbow fish shared. We found the cutest Rainbow Fish puppet that shared his shiny scales with all of the friends.

Sam the Praying Mantis

Wednesday morning on our way into the preschool, Mrs. Schultz looked down and saw a HUGE praying mantis. Mrs. Wells said, "I MUST have this!" Mrs. Wells being much much braver than Mrs. Schultz, went and got her trusty bug house and poking stick. She gently guided the praying mantis into the house with the stick as Mrs. Schultz stood behind her jumping and saying, "Don't let it get on you!!!" After we caught the praying matis, Mrs. Schultz made Mrs. Wells promise to let him go back to his family. The children loved seeing the praying mantis. We hope you enjoy the pictures also.
